Planning questions

A few useful things to know.

Not sure where to start? Ask us about route choices, seasonal conditions, safari destinations or combining a trek and safari.

Talk to our team →
When is the best time to climb Kilimanjaro?

Many climbers favour the generally drier periods around January–March and June–October, though mountain weather can change. The best dates depend on your priorities and the conditions expected for your route.

Which Kilimanjaro route should I choose?

Routes differ in length, scenery, accommodation and acclimatisation profile. Consider the time you have available and seek a plan that allows a sensible pace rather than choosing on price or speed alone.

Can I combine a climb with a safari?

Yes, it is possible to pair a Kilimanjaro or Mount Meru trek with a Northern Circuit safari. Build in suitable rest time and choose the order based on your dates and needs.

Which parks are on the Northern Circuit?

Common choices include Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara National Park. The right combination depends on trip length, season and wildlife interests.

How do I get a proposal?

Use the Plan Your Trip or Contact page to tell us your likely dates, group size and interests. We can then discuss suitable options and the information needed to develop your plans.
