Day 1: Arusha to Miriakamba Hut

Start the day with a drive to Arusha National Park Gate, where a quick registration is completed. Begin your trek escorted by an armed ranger for safety. Along the trail, you’ll encounter an array of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, and antelopes. The day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay at Miriakamba Hut.

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut

The trek to Saddle Hut involves a steep ascent along a scenic ridge offering panoramic views of the Meru Crater and the striking Ash Cone. Upon arrival at Saddle Hut, enjoy a hot lunch. For the adventurous, an optional hike to the summit of Little Meru (3,820m) is available, providing stunning views as the sun sets.

Day 3: Summit Ascent and Descent to Miriakamba Hut

Begin the summit trek at 1:30 a.m., climbing to Rhino Point (3,800m) and then to Cobra Point (4,350m). Reach the peak of Mount Meru (4,566m) at sunrise, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro towering above the clouds. After celebrating your accomplishment, descend to Saddle Hut for brunch and continue to Miriakamba Hut for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Descend to Momella Gate and Return to Arusha

Enjoy a swift and scenic descent through open grasslands and mixed forests. Keep an eye out for wildlife along the way. By late morning, you’ll reach Momella Gate, where you’ll receive a summit certificate to commemorate your achievement. Your driver will transfer you back to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi for a well-deserved rest.
